The Lynchburg region (and by extension the Commonwealth of Virginia) will be a location that attracts, seeds and grows scientific, engineering and technology talent and business.
Foster growth and champion innovation in the Lynchburg regional technology sector, while providing a voice for technology that advances our business community.
The result of the regional TBED work plan will be increased innovation and the practical implementation of innovation in the region’s industries. Specific outcomes include:
- Improve the quality of the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) workforce in the Lynchburg region and Virginia
- Increased levels of innovation-based activities including, but not limited to new product development, technology commercialization, technology transfer, technology business start-ups and growth, along with relevant applied research and development.
- Increase in the size and quality of the support network providing technical solutions for science, engineering and technology companies in the region and the state
- Economic growth of existing and prospective technology-based employers in the Lynchburg region and Virginia
